Essential handbooks and manuals to the combat GI, published by both the War Department and individual firms, as well as interest groups. There were literraly hundreds of topics, ranging from field calculus, to weapons assembly, to food preparation. Field Manuals (FM's) contained the basic doctrines of training, tactics and technique. Technical Manuals (TM's) described Army material (weapons, vehicles, machines, radio's, ...) and contained instructions for its care and operation.
